Lori Gray Muligano - Professional Musician, Teacher and Music Therapist

©Chehalis Hegner 2008
Majoring in music with piano as her primary instrument in college, Lori's own music training includes 20 years of classical piano lessons. Lori has sung since grade school and has always loved singing harmonies as far back as middle-school. Singing in various choirs and bands is something Lori has done throughout most of her life. As a college student and in her adult years, Lori took voice lessons from several wonderful voice coaches.
Lori Gray Muligano obtained her BA in Music with a minor in psychology from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. She successfully completed her Music Therapy Internship at Little City Foundation in Palatine, Illinois to complete her music therapy degree. Although she worked primarily as a music therapist in residential settings in the 1980s, Lori has now expanded her horizons and brought her music therapy principles and experience to the general population.
Developing and offering her own unique programs, Music SOS™ (Music for the Stressed Out Soul) is ideal for adults looking for a way to unwind from their busy lives as this class combines guided imagery, relaxation techniques and light yoga to help soothe tired and worn out bodies and souls. And for preschool children, Lori's Music 4 Kids™ integrates relaxation techniques in a fun way that children don't even realize they are learning tension and release concepts, along with fun music and theme-based activities and singing. Lori enjoys working with children and loves the opportunity to share her experience with young people. There's nothing like seeing the smile on the face of a child whose spirit is allowed to soar.
Lori is also a teacher. She has taught private lessons for many years, whether it was in her own home, in her students' homes or through community recreation programs. And private teaching wasn't the only way she taught. Back in the 1990s, she directed a children's choir for six years and loved working with grade school children in a musical realm. Lori currently teaches beginning and intermediate voice & intermediate and advanced piano to youth (age 10 through high school) and adults. For more than six years, Lori has taught piano and voice lessons in her own private teaching studio in Crystal Lake, Illinois, at the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park attached to the Dole Mansion.
Whether it be pop, jazz, classical, rock, folk or blues, Lori loves many different musical genres. She incorporates various styles of music into her teaching.
Lori enjoys all aspects of music, whether she is teaching or performing, writing, playing, singing or incorporating music therapy principles into everyday situations. A writer of beautiful piano melodies, Lori brings her flowing contemporary piano playing together with her smooth jazz voice. She loves performing her favorites in her own style, whether they are old standards, more current selections or originals.

"I have known Lori Muligano for one year now. She has been a dedicated and committed voice instructor for my daughter. She has great compassion for music and teaching. She has the innate ability to relate to children and their individual needs. This combination of understanding coupled with realistic/high expectations has motivated my daughter to strive to be her best. My daughters marked improvement has gained her recognition in school and community theater. It is obvious that with Lori's ongoing motivation, my daughter continues to enjoy singing and performing. I can only speak highly of the quality instruction and the positive professional relationship Lori has provided. I would highly recommend her as a voice/music teacher."

"At first I thought that piano and voice lessons would be terrible, arduous, and just no fun at all. However, she takes the material we cover [dry and boring at times], and makes it really exciting and enjoyable. Somehow, she finds ways of covering the topics in ways that are very different. She really connects with her students and incorporates some music theory related to music favored by them in the lessons. Overall, she really knows her stuff and I actually enjoy going to my lessons!"

George Muligano - Professional Musician, Teacher and Lead Guitarist

©Dino Biris 2011
George was raised in a family of musicians and at the age of 13, he got his first "real" guitar, a Gibson ES-330, which he still owns and gigs with regularly. George has more guitars than you can count on two hands and he finds occasion to use them all.
One of his unique abilities is to be able to listen to a song and find just the right guitar sound, using one of his guitars and pairing that with just the right processed sounds. Often times, he combines several guitar parts into one that he plays to cover as many guitars as possible in one tune. He can change his guitar sounds in mid-song to go from playing rhythm to playing a lead and then back to playing rhythm or riffs as needed.
For 11 years, George was the lead guitarist for the Gas Light Clubs house band on Bourbon Street at Pheasant Run. He has played in dozens of rock, blues and originals bands over the years, including acting as musical director in many of them. George enjoys collaborating with other musicians to expand his musical horizons and can be seen performing nearly every weekend at some venue or another throughout the Chicagoland area.
Currently looking for his next band opportunity with an established and professional gigging rock/blues band, George's tasteful lead guitar work along with his dynamic stage presence is a great asset for any serious group. Inquire by emailing: George@Music4Living.com.
George has an incredible "ear" and is a remarkable musician! His ability to listen to music and hear all the instruments that are contributing to the sound of the song helps him craft just where he should contribute musically. George knows how to add texture and nuance to songs and he truly connects with the music he is playing. His ear and ability to hear have served him well with the vast musical and performance experiences he's had.
One of his most notable attributes is his love for performing. His enjoyment of performing is so evident and contagious when you watch him on stage. Want to be a rock star? George will help you develop the skills you need and teach you to connect with the music you enjoy!
